I always am having to pick up horse feed or hay in my Mini Cooper, It's not exactly a fun experience. I would get a truck but I just don't like the way that trucks handle. However if I could get an ute I would be happy. Though not having a back seat would be a pain in the ass.

Not having a backseat really isn't that much of a pain. 2 seat sports car + extended cab truck with virtually unusable backseat...been that way for 2 years now, I've survived.

This may be one of the very few instances where Ridgeline may be the answer
Now, if you'll please excuse me, I need to go chop off my fingers

*Avalanche. He wants an avalnche instead. They get the same fuel economy but the avalnche gets a proper truck interior and frame so it has a much higher tow and payload capacity. The ridgeline handles slightly better but not by a huge margin. If he wants to go that far away from cars, then he might as well get the swiss army truck.

dodge* rampage. A k-car ute.......it went over about as well as you'd think.
edit - dodge, not chrysler....and technically it's the L-body but it came from the k-car era so it gets lumped in with those turds.

I was going to suggest Avalanche, because yes they are awesome, but they do ride like exactly what they are - trucks
However an Avalance 2500 with air suspension rides like a fucking DeVille, so there is that too

I was going to say, my Suburban LTZ rides almost as well as our IS250. Would imagine an Avalanche would be similar.

Rancheros tend to be a bit less than their contemporary el caminos. Plus they look bad ass. You just have to be able to get over everyone calling your car/truck thing a chevy.
Also: Corvair ute conversion.
Been on sale for months and the price has gone from 18k to 12. I bet you could get it for 10.

You're saying, "I want an El Camino," but what I'm hearing is, "I want a Subaru Baja."

Depends on the generation. The first gens rode pretty stiff, more like a truck than a Suburban. The 2500s were even worse. I've yet to drive a 2nd gen, so I have no opinion on that

I told my dad we needed a ute when i was like 15, he showed up with a ridgeline a year later and said, "This is a Ute right?"
I think he half passed.

I can almost smell the weed and PBR stank in that car through the internet. The 70s is palpable with that one.

True story- saw a Rampage in the flesh a few weeks ago. Almost thought I was hallucinating, because they simply don't exist.

I'm rebuilding my ute to have a midgate with a second pair of seats. Because I'm just that awesome.
